Tulane defender Jordan Norman will visit Kentucky

Kentucky is interested in one of the best edge rushers in the GO5.

The transfer portal officially opened on Friday, January 2nd, and new Kentucky Football head coach Will Stein is wasting no time to recruit and build his first roster.

While still the offensive coordinator for Oregon for the Ducks’ playoff run, he is returning to Lexington to host recruits this weekend.

Stein’s offensive prestige has multiple top offensive players in the portal interested in Kentucky, but he also has to build a defense. One name to keep an eye on is edge rusher Jordan Norman, who is slated to visit Lexington at some point, according to 247 Sports’ Chris Hummer. Colorado is also set to get a visit.

A redshirt junior with two years of eligibility remaining, Norman started his career at South Alabama, committing to the program as a 3-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. After two seasons, appearing in all 13 games as a sophomore, he transferred to play for Jon Sumrall and Tulane this past season, where he was a difference maker.

This past season with the Green Wave, Norman recorded 28 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and six sacks. Looking at the analytics, Norman ranked third in the AAC in pressure rate (11.7%) and was a top-10 graded defensive lineman (78.5).

Announcing his decision to enter on Friday, the opening day of the portal, there was some belief that Norman would follow Sumrall to Florida.

Thus far, he is only scheduling visits to Kentucky and Colorado.
