Former LSU coach Nate Dodson joining Kentucky Football

This sounds like a good addition for the Wildcats.

Kentucky Football head football coach Will Stein continues to make additions to the Wildcats’ coaching staff. The most recent addition is Nate Dodson joining the Wildcats’ staff as assistant quarterbacks coach, according to his Twitter profile.

Dodson comes to Lexington from the LSU Tigers, where he served as an offensive assistant over the past two seasons. He brings NFL experience with him as well, having served as an operations assistant for two seasons with the Los Angeles Rams from 2017-18.

In Lexington, Dodson will work closely with new offensive coordinator Joe Sloan and potentially Cutter Boley, who is expected to return to Kentucky for next season and be QB1.

After serving with the Rams, Dodson accepted a graduate assistant position at Minnesota ahead of the 2019 season. The young coach would spend three seasons with P.J. Fleck‘s program and was on the same staff in Minneapolis as new Kentucky linebackers coach Chad Wilt.

Dodson would then follow offensive coordinator Mike Sanford Jr.to Colorado for two seasons (2022-23) as the program transitioned to the Deion Sanders era in 2023.
