Liverpool might unfortunately miss out on Antoine Semenyo, but there's a few options to consider.

Former rivals Manchester City look all-but confirmed to be the club destined to sign the Ghanaian, but that likelihood doesn't have to be a problem for Liverpool. As part of their search for a new winger, the Reds will have considered a long shortlist of potential wingers to freshen up the team.

It's generally understood that one of Pep Guardiola's forwards will need to make way for Semenyo, and while Liverpool might not necessarily be interested in the departing attacker, the Reds ears could prick up if the opportunity arises for one of their favoured profiles to leave as part of the deal.

Bobb to make way for Semenyo

In addition to the news that Liverpool are set to miss out on Semenyo, as City are his preferred club, it's now been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Oscar Bobb is going to leave so he can join.

The 22-year-old Norwegian is one of Guardiola's most prized young talents and it's indicative of how good Semenyo is that he's the chosen one to make for him. Ordinarily, Bobb plays as a striker, but at times he's been utilised as a winger so that he can play without disturbing Erling Haaland.

Right now Liverpool don't have a shortage of strikers, with Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, Jayden Danns and Will Wright all playing at the club at different levels - although only Ekitike is fit right now.

It's clear that the Reds' preferred City departure would've been Omar Marmoush, who is currently away at AFCON with Egypt, playing alongside Mohamed Salah, but with his future secure, the club's attention is is going to turn elsewhere. As part of Romano's update, it's been revealed that Borussia Dortmund are hoping to sign Bobb and it's here where Liverpool might be able to capitalise.

Bobb to allow Adeyemi to leave?

With the Norwegian potentially set for a move to the Bundesliga, it's plausible that Dortmund could be open to letting their star winger Karim Adeyemi head out the door, with the Reds eyeing him up.

The German 23-year-old is not only younger than Semenyo, but he also has experience of playing in the Champions League, and his nine goal contributions are just a few behind the Premier League star.

Both players have the ability to excel on either side of the pitch and his electric pace would add a brand new dimension to Liverpool's attack. Arne Slot said earlier this week that he's keen to take advantage of such a 'crucial [aspect] in modern football' - Adeyemi has it in abundance.

Whether the move is something the Reds could pull off is a whole other story, and we'll have to wait and see if Bobb completes the move to Dortmund first, but the dominoes could soon start falling.
