Kentucky DB Nasir Addison enters transfer portal

After flashing late-season momentum, the rising senior defensive back, Nasir Addison, will explore new opportunities

Kentucky Football cornerback Nasir Addison announced Monday that he will enter the NCAA transfer portal when it officially opens on January 2, bringing his three-year tenure in Lexington to a close.

“After careful thought and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining,” Addison wrote in a statement on Twitter.

Addison went on to thank the University of Kentucky, the coaching staff, and Big Blue Nation, calling his time with the program meaningful both on and off the field.

The New Jersey native played in four games this year, finishing with 13 total tackles, 11 of them solo. His most productive performance came in Kentucky’s November win at Auburn, where he posted a career-high five solo tackles, then followed it up with four more tackles the next week against Florida.

Across three seasons with the Wildcats, Addison totaled 28 tackles. He appeared in 12 games as a sophomore, recording nine tackles and a pass breakup, and played eight games as a true freshman, finishing with six tackles and a fumble recovery.

Addison was a 3-star recruit out of high school, and he chose Kentucky over offers from Maryland, Ole Miss, and Florida State.

With two years of eligibility remaining, Addison will look to build on his late momentum as he searches for his next destination.
