It was an emotional evening at the Olimpico, where Roma welcomed back Daniele De Rossi.

Before kick-off for Roma vs. Genoa, a matchday 17 match in Serie A, Frederic Massara spoke to the media.

The January transfer window was the main topic, and the Giallorossi sporting director delved into it.

Regarding Joshua Zirkzee and Giacomo Raspadori, key attacking targets, he told Sky Sport: “They’re recurring names, and there are others as well. The transfer window opens in four days, and I don’t want to look for excuses. We’ll need to strengthen; there’s no development at the moment.”

Massara then spoke about Ferguson: “The coach always wants the best for the team and for Roma. He motivates them but always demands the best. We hope Evan can give his all today. Every match is an opportunity for all the players to prove their worth. There’s no Ferguson case; as I said, we’ll try to evaluate all situations to improve Roma’s squad.”

And on the transfer window: “We want to try to do the right things and make things better. Everyone would like to have the best players right away, but there are national and international competitions underway in January. We’ll try to do the right things to improve the team.”
