There is more change afoot at OGC Nice. Following the departure of Fabrice Bocquet as president earlier this month, there is now set to be a managerial change, too. As reported by L’Équipe, Claude Puel is set to replace Franck Haise. The former is set to sign a deal until the end of the season. Whilst the change has not been made official, it is only a matter of time. A press conference has been called for Monday morning.
The change in the dugout will also affect transfer plans. Nice had been looking to strengthen in January and had targeted Nottingham Forest’s Arnaud Kalimuendo. The Frenchman has struggled for game time since moving to the Premier League and a return to Ligue 1 was on the cards.
Kalimuendo knows Haise from their time spent together at RC Lens, and so the manager’s impending departure could alter those plans and derail those attempts, as per RMC Sport. The same goes for another target, Elye Wahi, whom Haise also knew from his time with Les Sang et Or.
