Sources: Real Madrid reject €80m bid for key attacker

Real Madrid have made their position clear in the transfer market, sending a strong message to Europe’s elite. 

According to a major revelation from Fichajes, the Spanish giants have rejected a massive €80 million offer from Manchester City for one of their most prized assets, Rodrygo.

It is said that the proposal from City was not a casual enquiry. It was a high-impact move aimed at testing Real Madrid’s resolve over a player who has recently struggled for consistency. 

This is because Pep Guardiola is convinced that Rodrygo has the tactical intelligence, versatility, and composure to become a decisive figure within his system.

However, the structure of the offer immediately raised red flags in Madrid. While the total value reached €80 million, only €60 million was guaranteed, with the remaining €20 million tied to performance-related variables. 

From the very first moment, this approach clashed with Real Madrid’s transfer policy, especially when it comes to players deemed strategic.

Clear rejection from Real Madrid

If Manchester City truly want to pursue Rodrygo, the €80 million must be presented as a fixed and guaranteed fee. 

Variables, conditional payments, or bonus-based structures are not acceptable in negotiations of this scale. 

The club believe that accepting variables in major transfers weakens their negotiating position and creates a precedent they are unwilling to set in the market. 

Madrid want clarity, control, and respect for the value they place on their players.

Real Madrid value Rodrygo

Rodrygo’s importance within the sporting structure cannot be overstated. Beyond his recent upturn, the club value his mentality, big-game pedigree, and ability to adapt across the attacking line. 

There is a strong belief that his sporting impact and commercial appeal far exceed the €80 million currently on the table.

For that reason, Real Madrid closed the door, at least for now. Only a clean, direct, and significantly convincing offer would even open the possibility of serious discussions.
