Week 17 has come and gone, and the AFC Playoff picture is becoming clearer as we head into the final week of the 2025 regular season. Both the Broncos and Patriots clinched their divisions this week, while six of the seven postseason spots have been clinched. The only remaining spot will be coming from the AFC North as the Steelers and Ravens compete for the division title and postseason berth.

The Denver Broncos are your AFC West Champs and have the inside track for the number one seed in the AFC. All they need to do is defeat the Chargers next week, and they will have home-field advantage throughout the postseason.

MVP contender Drake Maye and the Patriots dominated the Jets on Sunday and clinched the AFC East. They will need to beat the Dolphins and have the Broncos lose if they want to be the number one seed in the AFC.

The Jaguars continued their hot streak with a win over the Colts on Sunday, but they still have the Texans on their heels and will need to defeat the Titans in the finale if they want to win the division. If not, they open the door up for the Texans to leapfrog them in the standings and win the AFC South.

Both the Chargers and Bills lost this past weekend, but both teams have already clinched postseason berths and are locked into a wild-card spot. It remains to be seen if they’ll rest their starters this coming week, which could impact the Broncos game as they push for the one seed in the AFC.

The big game next week will be between the Steelers and the Ravens. Whoever wins this game will win the AFC North and host a wildcard game, while the other team will be eliminated and watching from the couch. The Steelers will have the home-field advantage, but I anticipate a dog fight between these two divisional rivals in what will basically be a postseason game.

Outside of the Steelers and Ravens game, the AFC postseason picture is all but set except for seeding, which will be determined after the outcomes of the games next week.
