The Texas Longhorns have reached the College Football Playoff in two consecutive seasons and are looking to keep that going in 2025.

The Longhorns made it to the semifinal of the 12-team playoff last season, losing to the Ohio State Buckeyes 28-14. Ohio State ultimately won the national title over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 34-23.

On Monday, Circa Sportsbook revealed which teams had the best odds to make the playoff. On3's Brett McMurphy posted the odds for the SEC on X, with Texas leading at -350.

Sarkisian has been a model of consistency with Texas over the last two seasons. The Longhorns made the 2023 playoff and lost to the Washington Huskies 37-31 in the semifinal when the model was still capped at four teams.

While plenty of talent was lost, Texas retained a significant amount as well. The Longhorns return key contributors like edge rusher Collin Simmons, cornerback Malik Muhammad, safety Michael Taaffe and linebacker Anthony Hill.

Then there is the beginning of the Arch Manning era at quarterback. Manning played in 10 games with two starts under center, throwing for 939 passing yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions.

Texas was also picked to win the SEC Championship Game by ESPN's FPI. A recruit from the 2027 class may be picking Texas very soon, as five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown's two frontrunners are the Longhorns and Oregon Ducks.

Texas begins its chase for the elusive national title on August 30 against Ohio State. Kickoff is at Noon ET on Fox.
