Week 17 Colts vs. Jaguars Game discussion

Get in on this week’s open thread

The Indianapolis Colts are at home to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 17 of the 2025 season, kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. EST.

The Colts season is effectively over. A year that started with so much hope, so much promise and it’s gone. All of it. There’s just not much to say. Another year of looking forward to free agency and the draft. Another year watching other NFL teams in the playoffs. Heck, even one and done in the playoffs would be nice. Just getting to the postseason would be a welcome sight for Colts fans.

Philip Rivers will likely be playing in his final NFL game today, so we’ll see how Phil goes out. For his sake I hope he gets to enjoy it. I hope his kids have enjoyed watching their dad play ball again. I hope he doesn’t regret his decision to come back.

Between Rivers and a lack of injuries, I don’t have many other hopes for this week’s game. Sauce Gardner is playing and honestly I don’t even care if he plays well, I just don’t want him to get hurt. Like the Gardner trade (or the guy who ultimately made the deal) or not, he is likely to be the Colts CB1 for the foreseeable future and the most talented young cornerback Indy has had since Vontae Davis. Hopefully he is ready to roll and stays healthy. Seeing Sauce start in week one of 2026 after a healthy offseason will be really nice to see.

But that’s it. That’s the upside. That’s what we have to look forward to. But just remember the offseason is long and any Colts football, yes even bad meaningless football is better than none.
