Oh right, the bowl game
The Brian Kelly era at LSU officially comes to a close tonight as the Tigers end the 2025 season in the exact same venue where they ended the 2024 season: Houston for the Texas Bowl.
Bowl games are becoming impossible to preview, and that is especially true for an LSU team that is transitioning from Kelly to Lane Kiffin. The ones who will be back with the Tigers in 2026 will surely put their best foot forward with Kiffin surely watching, and the ones who won’t be coming back will want to put good film out there for the new home.
I suppose that tonight’s Texas Bowl “matters” since they’re keeping score and all that good stuff…but does any of this actually matter? LSU could win 100-0 tonight or lose 100-0, and my reaction is going to be “…okay.” I’m sure the Tiger defense will be really good, and I’ve got no reason to believe the offense will be any better than what we’ve seen all season long.
Final Prediction: Houston 21, LSU 20
