Cleveland Browns roster has continued to see changes, especially at QB. Dillon Gabriel, Bailey Zappe continues that
The Cleveland Browns will have a better idea of what kind of fight the Pittsburgh Steelers will put up in Week 17 when Saturday’s slate of games concludes. Browns fans will also be very focused on the tank-off matchup between the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders, as the 2026 NFL draft order is a primary focus for the team’s future.
Cleveland is likely to select a quarterback early in next year’s draft unless QB Shedeur Sanders lights it up in the final two weeks. The Browns will have to protect the young quarterback and put him in positions to be successful in order for that to happen.
If Cleveland is unable to protect Sanders and he needs to depart the game, Bailey Zappe, not Dillon Gabriel, is likely to replace him versus the Steelers. Gabriel’s shoulder injury, popping up Friday, led the Browns to elevate Zappe, along with TE Sal Cannella, for Sunday’s Week 17 matchup.
TE David Njoku has already been ruled out for the game, while rookie sensation TE Harold Fannin Jr. was also injured on Friday and is questionable for the game, which explains Cannella’s elevation.
