NC State’s depth at wide receiver took another hit this week with the news that Noah Rogers is planning to hit the portal after two seasons with the Wolfpack. I wouldn’t be terribly concerned about this development if Terrell Anderson were returning, but now State is facing the task of replacing its top four receivers.
Rogers put together two nearly identical seasons in Raleigh—35 grabs, 478 yards in 2024; 33 grabs, 441 yards this fall—and one Very Legendary Catch aside, his impact was modest. He averaged fewer than three receptions per game, and did not have a 100-yard receiving game. He set career-bests in receptions (eight) and yardage (96) against Georgia Tech last month.
While he hasn’t met the high expectations set by his high school career, he obviously can help this team and has two years of valuable experience that would have been nice to hold on to. Oh well.
