Red Sox fans can't be happy to see what Rafael Devers is doing for the Giants

Raffy is hot.

For a bit, it seemed like the Boston Red Sox may not regret the Rafael Devers trade. His start with the San Francisco Giants wasn't great.

But now, Raffy is hot, and Red Sox fans can't be thrilled that he isn't on their team.

For starters, Devers played the field for the first time this season on Tuesday night. He made his MLB debut at first base.

Devers had previously refused to play first for the Red Sox when Triston Casas went down with a season-ending injury. But now, he's got the big mitt on over there for the Giants when they need it.

And the bat is heating up in kind.

Devers had two hard-hit knocks on Tuesday night, and on Wednesday afternoon, he whacked a 114mph single, a golf-swing homer and then a laser shot for his second homer of the day.

It was Devers' 20th career multi-homer game, and his first with the Giants.

The Red Sox have a winning record since dealing Devers, so maybe it's a case of addition by subtraction in Boston.

But with a decade left of Devers in San Francisco, there's still plenty of time for the trade to age poorly for the Red Sox. It has taken a step in that direction over the past couple days.
