Olympic champion Andreas Wellinger and multiple world champion Karl Geiger return into Germany's ski jumping World Cup squad for the upcoming Four Hills Tour.

The national federation DSV said on Friday that Wellinger and Geiger are among their five-strong World Cup squad.

The Four Hills start on Monday in Oberstdorf and includes competitions in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 1, Innsbruck on January 4 and Bischofshofen on January 6.

Wellinger took a competition break while Geiger was not nominated for the last World Cup events after modest results. Both trained in Italy instead.

"I am looking forward to returning to the World Cup. I have positive memories from the Four Hills venues, so the timing is right," Wellinger said in the DSV statement.

For both jumpers the aim will be to have good results at the first two Four Hills stops in Germany to remain on the team for the two competitions in Austria.

Wellinger is a twice runner-up at the Four Hills, and Geiger has placed second and third overall.

Germany's main hopes rest on Philipp Raimund and Felix Hoffmann, who have three World Cup poidiums each this season.

The top favourites are World Cup leader Domen Prevc of Slovenia and Japan's three-time Four Hills winner Ryoyu Kobayashi.
