In Cardoso's post, which has 1.3 million likes, she shared three photos from her wedding day. The first was a close up shot of the couple holding hands while wearing their wedding attire. The next two were of the pair romantically dancing at their reception.

Jota and Cardoso, who had three children together, tied the knot on Sunday, June 22. On Instagram, Cardoso described the wedding as a "dream came true." Just a day before his death, Jota posted a wedding video on Instagram, writing in the caption: "A day we will never forget."

Tragedy struck on Thursday, July 3, when Jota and Silva died in a car crash in the Spanish province of Zamora, per the BBC and Sky News.

Friends, family and former teammates gathered for the brothers' funeral in their hometown of Gondoma, Portugal, on Saturday, July 5.
