Get live score updates, highlights, drive-by-drive analysis for Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings on Christmas Day.
Merry Christmas, Detroit Lions fans!
I know the franchise isn’t where we want it to be right now, but Thursday is another opportunity for them to beat a division rival, and that’s almost never a bad thing. The Minnesota Vikings may be beat up right now, so Detroit should have an easier-than-usual path to victory this time around. But this is also the Vikings that completed a pretty significant upset of the Lions on Detroit’s home turf. Nothing is currently a given with this Lions team.
But one thing is absolutely certain: if the Lions lose on Christmas, there will be no postseason for them. Detroit is already considered long-shots to make the playoffs—needing to win out combined with the Packers losing their final two games—but it’s a mathematical impossibility if they lose to the Vikings. Can the Lions get back to their winning ways or will the slow decline of the season continue this holiday season?
This post will serve as a live-updating story. After the Lions and Vikings kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET, this site will populate with live updates from the game. That includes drive-by-drive analysis, highlights of the game’s biggest plays, score updates, and any injury news from U.S. Bank Stadium. When the game ends Thursday night, this post will serve as a full-game recap.
All you need to do is refresh this page occasionally after kickoff and watch the updates roll in. If you’re looking for our live discussion page, you can find the first half live chat here.
