Guard was promoted from practice squad this week
The Las Vegas Raiders promoted guard Atonio Mafi to their 53-man roster from the practice squad this week.
Let’s take a closer look at Mafi:
Size:
6-3, 330 pounds.
NFL experience:
The New England Patriots drafted him in the fifth round in 2023. He was waived in 2024. The Indianapolis Colts signed him and he spent time on their practice squad and roster. The Colts cut him in May, 2025 and the Raiders signed him right before training camp. He didn’t make the roster after training camp and spent most of the season on the practice squad. He has played in 21 career games, including one for the Raiders. He started five games for the Patriots in 2023.
College:
He went to UCLA.

Mafi is from San Mateo, California just like Raiders’ part owner Tom Brady and they are both alumni of Serra High School.
How he will fit in with Raiders:
Mafi, 25, was promoted when the Raiders put center/guard Jordan Meredith on the injured reserve. Mafi will likely be a backup in the final two games of the season.
