Ryan Flournoy start or sit: Week 17 fantasy football advice

We break down the fantasy football outlook of Ryan Flournoy ahead of the Cowboys’ Week 17 matchup vs. the Commanders.

Week 17 of the 2025 NFL season will kick off with a Christmas triple-header today and the first matchup will feature the Dallas Cowboys visiting the Washington Commanders at 1 p.m. ET on Netflix.

The Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention with the Eagles’ victory last Saturday and then dropped their third straight game in a 34-17 loss to the Chargers on Sunday. Wide receiver Ryan Flournoy at least made a positive contribution in the setback and we’ll see if he end the season on a high note in these final two weeks.

Below, we’ll go over Flournoy’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 17.

Fantasy Football analysis: Cowboys WR Ryan Flournoy

Flournoy caught just two targets for 18 receiving yards in Sunday’s loss to the Chargers, but one of them was a first-quarter touchdown reception that put the Cowboys on the board. To no surprise, the second-year wideout was dwarfed by CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Jake Ferguson in targets, but he was at least able to make somewhat of an impact in the game.

It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys’ approach these last two games with nothing to play for and whether secondary receiver options like Flournoy will garner more targets. He did appear on the injury report this week with a knee injury, so we’ll see how that affects him this afternoon.

Start or sit in Week 17?

Sit. Flournoy has been a serviceable third receiver option for the Cowboys throughout the year and has shown flashes of being a top option a few times this season. However, his target share is too low to trust if you’re looking for options this deep into the fantasy playoffs. Pass.
