Via a statement from his management team and released by LIV Golf, Koepka said released by LIV that the exit is “amiable” and he is “prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home.”
Brooks Koepka will not be competing on the LIV Golf Tour in 2026.
Following up on recent reports that he and LIV were parting ways, Koepka, who lives in Jupiter, made the announcement via a statement from his management team and released by LIV that the exit is “amiable” and he is “prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home.” His wife, Jena, said she had a miscarriage in an Instagram post earlier this year.
According to the statement, “Brooks Koepka will be stepping away from LIV Golf. He is deeply grateful to Yasir Al-Rumayyan (the governor of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, (LIV CEO) Scott O’Neil, and the LIV Golf leadership team, his teammates and the fans. Family has always guided Brooks’ decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home. Brooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what’s ahead.”
Talor Gooch will replace Koepka as captain for their LIV Golf team, Smash. The team then will have an opening to fill prior to the start of the 2026 season in February.
There will be speculation about whether Koepka would seek a return to the PGA Tour. He was one of the first big names to defect to LIV. However, Koepka, who has won four majors, struggled this year, missing the cut in three of the four majors and failing to win on LIV. He had two top-10 finishes and finished 31st among the league's 54 players in the individual standings.
