PWA fans can almost see it, that next event PWA is running.
Following the events of King of the Metro, Pro-Wrestling Australia now gears up for their next big show: The Climb. PWA The Climb will emanate from The Factory Theatre in Marrickville, New South Wales, on Friday, August 1, with six matches on the card.
Amongst the card is the Golden Esky ladder match (fka Key to the Card) in which the victor will earn the right to call out on any opponent for a future stipulation of their choosing. In order to win, participants must retrieve a beer can from the Golden Esky hanging above the ring. This year’s ladder match lineup features Will Kiedis, Big Fudge, Aaron Jake, Jessica Troy, Michael Spencer, and PPK (Frankie B & Nikki Van Blair).
Elsewhere, Robbie Eagles will defend the Soul of PWA Championship against The Tuckman. Tuckman earned this opportunity by outlasting 29 other competitors in the King of the Metro.
“The Tuckman always speaks about having fun in the ring. Having fun in wrestling. But being so jovial and concerned with his and the fan’s enjoyment of the matches he takes part in is the exact reason he is not a champion in PWA,” Robbie Eagles said in a press release.
“When people look at Robbie Eagles, they now see and associate the Soul of PWA Championship with me,” he continued. “I am the most decorated champion this promotion has ever witnessed, I continue to put more eyes on PWA & Australian Wrestling through my high output whenever overseas. Yet people like The Tuckman still won’t thank me for what I have given back to them. If he and the rest of the PWA roster won’t be grateful for the fruits of my labour, then I need to keep putting them in their place. There is a reason I am at the absolute top of the wrestling world, and it is because when I am in the ring, the fun and games are over.”
Four More Matches
Also at PWA The Climb, The Backslide Girlz (Shay Kassidy and Everett Connors) will put their PWA Tag Team Championships on the line against North Shore Wrestling’s Sam and Jack Osborne. This follows their successful title defense over The Velocities (Jude London and Paris De Silva) at King of the Metro. Now, the Velocities will team with Velkan Wild to take on Third Eye (Jay Sorbet, Ty Thayer and Xander Sullivan) in a Premiership 2025 semi-final bout.
Elsewhere in tag competition, R.A.N.G.A. (Jack J. Bonza and EC Brownie) will face MK+ Ultra (Kai Drake and Cosmo Cooper). Ben Braxton and Robbie Thorpe will also be in action as they collide in a singles bout.
Tickets for PWA The Climb are available now, with doors set to open at 7:30pm local time on August 1.
