City does need a goalscoring winger and that is exactly the type of player that Semenyo is. The Ghana international offers a lot more than just goals with his play but it is clear to see why City are so keen to sign Semenyo.
A new report now indicates that it is now a battle between Manchester City and Manchester United to sign Semenyo in January. City will back themselves to sell their vision to Semenyo to trump what their arch-rivals can offer.

Bailey also reports that Tottenham have shifted their focus to other January transfer targets and is seemingly out of the race to sign Semenyo. As per Graeme Bailey’s report it now seems that it is a battle between Manchester City and Manchester United to sign Semenyo. Graeme Bailey further reports that both clubs are confident of signing one of the top wide men in the Premier League. If it is now a battle between Manchester City and Manchester United to sign Antoine Semenyo it is now up to City to convince Semenyo that his future lies at City. There is a clear role in Pep Guardiola’s side for Semenyo. City need a player who can ideally slot in on the right wing and contribute goals instantly. Semenyo can do that. He can also slot in on the left wing if and when Jeremy Doku needs a rest. You can see where Semenyo can slot into this City squad.
