Portugal international Nádia Gómes has signed through 2026 with Chicago Stars of NWSL.
Portuguese international forward, Nádia Gomes, has re-signed with Chicago Stars through 2026, the club announced today.
“I’m excited to re-sign for this next year, and grateful for the opportunity to keep growing as a player in this club,” said Gomes.
Gomes’ story is an interesting one, but also one of resilience and determination. After being drafted by Orlando Pride in 2018, she left the sport due to pregnancy and having to take a job to support her family. After that, she accepted the invitation to try out for the USL W League’s San Francisco Glens in 2023 and earned a spot on the team. She had an amazing year, scoring 17 goals in 15 appearances and being named the league’s player of the year.
She arrived with the Stars in 2024 as a non-roster invitee and after signing her contract with them, she started three games and featured nine times that year. So far, she has registered 32 appearances and 13 starts, two goals and two assists for Chicago.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Nádia back to the Chicago Stars,” said Stars general manager Richard Feuz. “Since joining the club, Nádia has exhibited an admirable work ethic and dedication, allowing her to contribute on and off the pitch to help push the team forward.”
