Micah Alejado will return to Hawaii

Hawaii and Mountain West football got a big win when it was announced that star quarterback and conference freshman of the year, Micah Alejado, will return to the program for the 2026 season. He cites strong relationships with the coaching staff, notably Timmy Chang and Chris Brown, his belief in the program, and wanting to bring Hawaii back to greatness as the main reasons for his decision.

MW MBB Top Freshmen

Before conference play began this past weekend, Chris Murray took a look at the top freshmen in the conference in what he calls a freshmen renaissance for the conference this year. He ranks 11 players by Points Over Replacement Per Adjusted Game At That Usage, or PRPG, and Wyoming’s Nasir Meyer comes out on top. New Mexico features three players on the list, with Jake Hall (#2), Tomislav Buljan (#3), and Uriah Tenette (#7) mixed throughout the list. Fresno State, with the 8th and 10th players, is the only other team with multiple players on the list.

Why can’t the CFB media stand G5 teams in the playoff?

Friend of the G5, Stewart Mandel, is tired of the pundits complaining about G5 teams and takes to their defense here. He bashes the media for their coordinated messages, especially for their attempts to gaslight when they said no one cares about Cinderella stories. Mandel also correctly states James Madison should not be blamed for P4 teams not taking care of business, or the ACC tiebreaker rules. He also highlights many of the mid-major wins over the years in big bowl games, and points out that P4 teams get blown out in big games as well.
