PGA Tour captures Scheffler’s joy with wife and son.
PGA Tour Sends Touching Message on Scottie Scheffler, Wife Meredith and Son Bennett originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
On Sunday at Royal Portrush, Scottie Scheffler reflected on what mattered most as he hoisted the Claret Jug, describing how his first instinct after tapping in on the 18th green was to find his wife Meredith and son Bennett.
He celebrated by running toward the gallery, where Meredith and Bennett awaited, lifting his son high before tenderly kissing his wife as the crowd looked on. The moment perfectly captured the culmination of his flawless four-day performance and claimed his fourth major by a comfortable four-shot margin.
Yesterday, the PGA Tour shared that same embrace on its official Instagram account, pairing the photo with a simple, touching caption: “Family first ❤️”.
Speaking at a press conference later that day, Scheffler revealed that whenever he hoists a trophy, Meredith is always who he searches for first.
"Every time I'm able to win a tournament, the first person I always look for is my wife. Where we walk off each day is usually on the right side, and I didn't see her at first. So I was like, oh, my gosh, where's Meredith? What happened? She's not there." Scheffler revealed.
Congratulations again, Schef!

"As I kind of circled around the green, I saw my dad standing there. I was like, okay, perfect, my family must be down there, so I saw Meredith. She's always the first person I want to celebrate with. She knows me better than anybody. That's my best friend."
"It takes a lot of work to be able to become good at this game, and I wouldn't be able to do it without her support," he added.
He went on to explain that Meredith handles “everything at home,” allowing him to commit fully to golf’s demanding schedule, and that without her support, his success simply wouldn’t be possible.
That's a wrap on an incredible men's major season. 🙌
