Yankees Social Media Spotlight: Holiday Service

Derek Jeter, Aaron Judge, and the Yankees celebrate the week of Hanukkah by giving back to the community.

It’s Sunday, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! It’s been a big week for New York sports, as the Knicks brought home the NBA Cup and to ensure that the Big Apple wouldn’t end 2025 without a trophy of some kind. But what have our Yankees been up to while Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns conquered Vegas? Let’s find out!

Welcome to the North Pole

This week, the Yankees partnered with Aaron Judge’s All Rise Foundation and Walmart for their 16th annual Winter Wonderland event. In addition to providing toys and books for children from the Bronx, the Yankees turned the Stadium into the North Pole, complete with food, holiday decorations, and musical performances.

Happy Hanukkah!

Yankees radio broadcaster Suzyn Waldman celebrated the first night of Hanukkah on Instagram earlier this week.

Speaking of Suzyn, she also posted a picture of her enjoying a night out with John Sterling and Meredith Marakovitz. It’s good to see the gang taking the time to catch up in the offseason.

The Turn 2 Foundation

This week, Derek Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation hosted its annual golf invitational, raising $1.8 million. Unsurprisingly, Jeter’s former teammate Bernie Williams was not only in attendance, but a performer at the event!

Also in attendance was CC Sabathia, as well as Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson’s Falcon/Captain America in the Marvel movies.

Serving up Rice

Every December, the “You’ve heard of Elf on the Shelf, but have you heard of [blank] on [blank]?” meme returns with a vengeance. This year, the Somerset Patriots dug deep into the archives, finding a picture of Ben Rice during his high school hockey career, to bring us “Ben Rice on Ice.”

Speaking of Rice, the Yankees’ first baseman/catcher/designated hitter isn’t exactly posting on his Instagram a lot, but fortunately for us, his partner drops some photo dumps every once in a while to give us a look behind the curtain.

Good luck in Japan, Winans!

Earlier this week, Yankees Triple-A starter Allan Winans was released from his contract to pursue an opportunity in Japan. The right-hander took to Instagram to express his gratitude for the opportunity to don the pinstripes.
