Eintracht Frankfurt battled to a 1-1 draw with Hamburger SV earlier today – a result which head coach Dino Toppmöller felt reflected the run of play over 90 minutes.

"It was a hard-fought and exciting match with a fair final result. We wanted to take three points, but we also knew that HSV is not an easy team to play against at home.

"We didn't get off to a good start and conceded the opening goal. Then we scored a fantastic goal – exactly the kind of goal we had envisioned.

At halftime, we made a couple of adjustments and put in a really good away performance. Oscar Højlund's substitution did wonders for our energy levels.

“We had good control after the break, but unfortunately, we couldn't capitalize on some of our clear-cut chances,” explained Toppmöller in his post-match interview.

Frankfurt's skipper Robin Koch also chipped in, and believes the Hessen side “can certainly use the winter break” to restore their energy levels and bolster their squad.

“We have a few injuries. I hope the lads come back quickly next year, including those who are fit and have played a lot. So: a few days to switch off and then start the new year,” Koch said.
