Manchester City v West Ham United: Gut Feelings

How our team see Saturday’s match

Manchester City welcome West Ham United to the Etihad Stadium as the Blues look or their final three points before the Christmas period begins.

City made it through to the League Cup Final on Wednesday evening with a 2-0 victory over Brentford and will face Newcastle United in a two-legged affair, and will take on either Arsenal or Chelsea in the final, should they overcome the Geordies.

Today, though, they take on the struggling Hammers, who have won just three of their sixteen matches so far this season and sit three points from safety in the relegation zone, with Wolves and Burnley.

Victory for City and a favour from Everton when they take on Arsenal, would see the Blues hit top spot for Christmas and give the faithful an early Christmas present.

As always, our team are here to give us their views and opinions on the match. Here’s what we think this week.

Saul

Tricky match vs a weird side. A pretty down West Ham and we have City flying high. The win should be paramount. 3-1 City.

City 3-1 West Ham

Thomas

A chance to go top of the table, at least temporarily, with the Hammers in town. Hard times have befallen West Ham, as they are mired in the fight to avoid relegation. City are firing at the moment, and will apply pressure on the Gunners with a win.

City 4-0 WHU

Will

City are playing well at the moment and I can’t see anything other than a win in this one

City 5-1 West Ham

Pete

I like West Ham but I’m fearing for them today. They’re up against a City side that is like a juggernaut showing no signs of slowing down. It will probably be a straightforward win, but I’m once again going for a crazy figure.

City 6-0 West Ham

What happened against Brentford and Palace

I was unable to get a piece on for the Brentford match due to personal circumstances so there’s a bit of a catch-up here and we’ll deal with Palace first.

It was a decent win at Selhurst Park and Will was a Palace goal away from a perfect score. However, Thomas and Pete both went for 2-1, which means they get an extra two points

Against Brentford, Saul got the score bang on, predicting a 2-0 win. Will went for 3-1 so gets extra points for goal difference, while Thomas went for 3-0. Close, but no cigar.

Here’s the table:
