Roma are keenly interested in Nicolas Mascardi, a young Spezia goalkeeper, according to Il Secolo XIX.

With Gollini set to leave the club in January to play, Roma are looking for a new goalkeeper.

Svilar remains Gasperini’s undisputed starter and is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Serie A in terms of performance.

Also in the squad are Devis Vasquez and the young Zelezny, who arrived this summer from Juventus.

Competition for Mascardi is not lacking. Milan and Napoli had considered him in the summer, while Parma made a decisive move ahead of the January transfer window. Nonetheless, Roma is seriously considering his acquisition.

The Giallorossi club could decide to acquire the young goalkeeper in January and loan him out to Spezia until the end of the season, before integrating him into the squad in the future.

Mascardi, who still has two and a half years left on his contract with Spezia, has played 10 games in Serie B and one in the Coppa Italia this season, and is also part of the Under-21 squad.

With interest from Roma, the young goalkeeper could make the leap to Serie A while continuing his development in an environment where he has already had the opportunity to shine.
