According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has now made a clear decision regarding one of his most debated attacking players.

After weeks of uncertainty, the Real Madrid manager is fully prepared to rely on Rodrygo, convinced that the Brazilian’s recent upturn in form can be decisive in the weeks ahead.

Rodrygo’s situation had become a delicate one. For a forward of his profile, goals are the ultimate currency, and they had been in short supply for some time.

Before his strike against Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League earlier this month, his previous goal for Real Madrid dated back to March.

That prolonged drought inevitably raised questions about his role in Alonso’s system and whether patience was beginning to wear thin.

Recent upturn in form

The goal against Manchester City, even in a narrow 1-2 defeat, proved to be a turning point. It was not just about finding the net, but about restoring belief.

Rodrygo followed that performance with another goal against Alaves, making it two goals in two consecutive matches.

For a player who thrives on rhythm and confidence, that sequence has changed the narrative around him almost overnight.

This is precisely the momentum Alonso wants to exploit. Internally, the coach sees Rodrygo’s resurgence as an opportunity to stabilise the attack rather than reshuffle it yet again.

As a result, the expectation is that the Brazilian will start on the right flank in the upcoming clash against Sevilla.

From a tactical perspective, the decision makes sense. With Rodrygo on the pitch, Real Madrid have looked more fluid in recent weeks.

His movement stretches defences, while his willingness to track back adds balance to the team.

That defensive commitment has not gone unnoticed by Alonso, who values discipline and intensity just as much as flair.

Rodrygo is no longer seen as a problem to manage, but as a solution to build around.

If this run continues, it could mark a defining chapter in his season, one where trust is repaid and Real Madrid reap the rewards.
