Raiders roster: Get to know Jahfari Harvey

Undrafted rookie promoted to 53-man roster

Jahfari Harvey (6) pursues Penn State’s Tyler Warren in 2024

The Las Vegas Raiders signed defensive end Jahfari Harvey to their 53-man roster this week.

Let’s take a closer look at Harvey:

Size:

6-2, 255 pounds.

NFL experience:

None.

How acquired:

The Raiders invited Harvey to their May rookie minicamp and then alter signed him. So, he wasn’t an initial undrafted free agent signing immediately following the draft. Thus, his journey is pretty unique. He didn’t make the roster coming out of training camp, but he was singed to the practice squad. He was promoted Wednesday, a day after Las Vegas waived defensive tackle Leki Fotu.

College:

He was at Miami from 2019-23 and then played the 2024 season at SMU. He started 32 of 64 college games with 18 career sacks,

How he will fit in with Raiders:

Harvey, 24, could see some playing time down the stretch, most likely coming on special teams. But this is a nice reward to finish his first year in the program and perhaps will be a sign of what to come in the future.
