The wait for college football to start is nearly over as Week 1 of the 2025 season is about a month away.

While there were many intriguing storylines in 2024, the upcoming season may already surpass them with what's at stake. There's a new College Football Playoff format again, bluebloods looking to recover after down years in 2024 and a whole lot of key matchups throughout the year.

Unlike the wait for the season itself, which at times has felt long, fans may not have to wait long for a potential game of the year as Week 1 is loaded with marquee matchups. However, the one that most are looking forward to is the battle between the defending champion Ohio State Buckeyes and the Texas Longhorns.

When discussing the matchup on a recent "College GameDay Podcast," Rece Davis expressed that between the two teams, Texas has a chance to answer some lofty questions.

"I will also build up, we'll find out that Texas can answer the questions that people have about them," Davis said. "Which the questions are, how are they going to be on the offensive line? And, how are they going to be on the defensive line? I think the answer will be just fine."

The Longhorns lost four starting offensive linemen to the NFL, and also saw four players from the defensive line rotation make the jump as well. Not to mention, the Longhorns also will be trotting out Arch Manning at quarterback for what will be his third career start.

While one game won't make or break a season for either team, it'll certainly give one of them a major confidence boost.
