Georgia football transfer portal tracker

Tracking which Georgia football players plan to enter the transfer portal, which opens the day after the Sugar Bowl

The Georgia Bulldogs have already had two players announce their intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal when the transfer window opens on Jan. 2. Georgia is still preparing for the College Football Playoff and is focused on playing in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. However, once Georgia is eliminated from the playoff or plays in the national championship, then we expect a lot of Georgia players to announce their plans to transfer.

There is no spring transfer portal window, so we expect a record number of college football players to transfer this winter. Last offseason (2024-2025), 20 Georgia players transferred out. During the 2023-2024 offseason, 24 Georgia players transferred out. We expect a similar number of Bulldogs to leave the team again this offseason.

The portal opens later this offseason than it did last offseason (January vs. December), so we expect most Georgia players to hold off on publicly announcing their intentions to transfer until after the Sugar Bowl.

What Georgia Bulldogs have plans to transfer?

Defensive back Daniel Harris

Cornerback Daniel Harris, a former four-star recruit, announced his plans to leave Georgia ahead of the SEC championship. Harris began the season as Georgia's starting cornerback opposite of All-SEC pick Daylen Everette. Over the course of the season, Harris lost his starting role to Demello Jones and Ellis Robinson with both Jones and Robinson expected to return next season, it makes sense that Harris is looking to transfer.

Career stats: 30 tackles, three pass deflections and 27 games played

Spurlin medically retired in March 2024. He's been cleared to return to football activities, but unfortunately he can't return to UGA since he medically retired. Spurlin underwent heart surgery in August. He showed a lot of promise during his time with Georgia and is a former four-star recruit with excellent sixe.

Stats (2023): Three receptions for 60 yards in six games played
