According to a report from MARCA, despite growing noise around Robert Lewandowski’s future, Barcelona remain remarkably calm about the forward’s contract renewal.

While rumours continue to link the Polish striker with a possible exit, the club is not panicking and is not rushing into any decisions regarding his contract situation.

At present, Barcelona have not taken any concrete steps towards renewing Lewandowski’s deal.

This is not due to a lack of respect or confidence in the forward, but rather an approach based on several key factors.

The club is noting that he will turn 38 next season, and age is playing a significant role in their thinking.

Alongside that, his physical condition is being closely monitored, especially after he has already suffered two injuries during the current campaign.

As such, Barcelona want to see how the rest of the season unfolds before making any final call.

Performance levels, physical response, and availability will all weigh heavily in the final decision. For now, there is no urgency from the club, as no formal talks have been initiated.

One key element that is working in Barcelona’s favour is the internal competition within the squad. The ongoing battle between Lewandowski and Ferran Torres for attacking minutes has raised the overall level of both players.

With a renewal still undecided, motivation remains high, and that competitive tension is seen as healthy for the team.

From a financial point of view, the situation is also favourable. La Liga’s updated regulations would allow Barcelona to renew Lewandowski without his salary counting towards Financial Fair Play limits.

Even so, the club is not allowing financial flexibility alone to dictate sporting decisions. The sporting director wants a full picture before committing.
