Mendes has another target in his sights.
Jorge Mendes is a rather infamous name in European football, labeled a ‘super-agent’ for being one of the most notable names in the footballing agency business. The Portuguese has names like José Mourinho, Lamine Yamal, Vitinha on his books while having a long history of representing players like Cristiano Ronaldo or old Bayern Munich and Chuck Smith fan favorite James Rodriguez.
Now he may want to add Bayern’s Cassiano Kiala to that list. This according to tzmuenchen reporter Philipp Kessler, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Agent Jorge Mendes is looking to add Cassiano Kiala to his list of clients and was at the FCB Campus in person for the Youth League game between Bayern and Sporting last week. Bayern want to keep Kiala in the long-term and are confident that a contract extension will be finalized soon, despite reports that Premier League clubs are trying to interfere.
The young center back, who has rotated between the Bavarian’ U-19s, U-23s and the first team’s bench this season, has a contract until June 2027. There is no massive rush to get things done. One may wonder how much Jorge Mendes’ attempts to win over Kiala will interfere with negotiations, however. Hopefully this all turns out better for Bayern than the Lamine Yamal situation.
