MLB insider Bob Nightengale says that after the Chicago Cubs traded for Kyle Tucker, they "can't stop now" and need to be aggressive at the trade deadline.

For the Chicago Cubs, the team look like one of the top contenders in baseball this season. The Cubs can contend for the World Series in 2025 thanks to an incredible offense and strong defense.
But, there is still room to improve the roster, especially in the starting rotation and at third base. With those areas to address, the Cubs are expected to be active at the trade deadline.
With less than two weeks until the trade deadline, MLB insider Bob Nightengale of USA Today had a strong message for the Cubs.
"The Chicago Cubs," Nightengale writes, "who were aggressive during the winter prying All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker and closer Ryan Pressly from the Astros, can't stop now."
The ending, "can't stop now," is the key part of Nightengale's message. With all the investment made into this roster, moving ahead at the deadline without being aggressive would make no sense.
It would be especially confusing since the Cubs, at 59-39, have the top record in baseball this season. Not being aggressive and capitalizing on their incredible roster would be a disservice to the team and the fans.
Tucker could leave in the offseason in a worst-case scenario, and if the Cubs don't make moves at the deadline to compete, his departure would hurt significantly more.
Nightengale's message is simple: the Cubs "can't stop now," and need to go all in at the trade deadline. In Nightengale's opinion, whether it's a starter or a third baseman, the Cubs need to be aggressive at the trade deadline.
