Real Madrid are reportedly in contract renewal talks with their Club World Cup breakout star.
Real Madrid maintained a five-match undefeated streak in the Club World Cup prior to their loss against Paris Saint-Germain in the semifinals.
While the elimination from the competition was disheartening for Los Blancos, the Club World Cup gave Xabi Alonso a good chance to analyse his squad after taking charge as head coach at the beginning of June.
One of Real Madrid's wonders in the Club World Cup was undoubtedly their breakout star, Gonzalo Garcia, who turned heads with his performances in the competition, recording four goals and one assist in six matches.
Following his excellent display for Real Madrid's B team, Garcia received his first call-up to their senior side in August 2023. Since then, the 21-year-old has made 12 appearances during which he netted five goals and provided two assists.
Now, Real Madrid are currently in talks to extend Garcia's current contract, which is valid until the summer of 2027, according to a recent report from Diario AS.

What's next for Real Madrid and Gonzalo Garcia?
Garcia has emerged as a top transfer prospect for several Spanish clubs, as well as Premier League sides, following his efforts and contributions on the pitch in the Club World Cup.
Several reports have suggested that a loan move this summer is also probable for Garcia, considering Real Madrid's competitive attack line.
Getafe have been heavily linked to make a move for Garcia, with their president, Angel Torres, publicly admitting that acquiring the Los Blancos academy graduate's signature is the club's top priority.
Garcia's immediate future at Santiago Bernabeu is expected to be decided by Xabi Alonso by the end of the season.
