Chelsea are a more attractive option for Xavi Simons according to Matt Law of The Telegraph who delivers his latest on this story.

This transfer story has become the biggest one of the week so far as Chelsea look to try and sign Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig in the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano had the latest drop on this one late last night and he says not only is the player keen on making the move to Stamford Bridge this window, but he has also now become Chelsea’s next big transfer target as they look to get this one done.

He also had the latest on a potential Nicolas Jackson departure and mentioned once again that Manchester United could be about to propose a swap deal offer to Chelsea to bring the striker to Old Trafford this summer.

‘Chelsea have made a check on Xavi Simons with the player believed to be open to a transfer to Stamford Bridge – but a move for another attacker may be dependent on a departure.

‘Arsenal are believed to have also registered an interest in Xavi Simons, but it is Chelsea who are currently rated the most attractive of the English options.

‘Chelsea’s qualification for the Champions League and Club World Cup success has elevated them in the eyes of players based outside England, and Xavi Simons is thought to be interested in the prospect of moving to Chelsea.’
