It didn’t take long for Shaq to make things weird again.
On a new episode of "The Big Podcast with Shaq:, the NBA legend sat down with Adam Lefkoe and Mike Tyson for a converation that went straight from sports to tabloid gossip. The subject? Klay Thompson and Megan Thee Stallion’s surprising summer romance.
Shaquille O’Neal isn’t buying the Megan and Klay hype
“Shaq, did you hear about the new celebrity couple?” Lefkoe asked.
Before anyone could even react, Mike Tyson jumped in with a question that froze time: “Who’s Klay Thompson though?”
After Lefkoe gave Tyson a crash course on Thompson’s basketball resume, the conversation turned to Klay’s rumored new love interest. And that’s when Shaq brought out his inner Vegas bookie.
“Six weeks,” he said. “That’s how long it’s gonna last.”
Tyson, clearly not ready to throw in the towel on love, argued that the couple might have more staying power. He mentioned Megan’s strength, Klay’s fame, and a little thing called “chemistry.”
From the splash zone to the red carpet
At 35, Klay Thompson isn’t exactly some rookie trying to go viral. He spent 11 seasons with the Golden State Warriors, racked up four rings, made five All-Star teams, and helped define an entire NBA era with Stephen Curry as part of the “Splash Brothers.”
After signing a three-year, $50 million deal with the Mavericks in July 2024, Thompson joined a loaded Dallas team that includes Anthony Davis, Kyrie Irving, and No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg. But no one expected his biggest offseason splash to be off the court.

Fans first raised eyebrows when Thompson was spotted in the background of Megan Thee Stallion’s poolside Instagram photos. Then came the couple’s red carpet debut at her foundation gala in New York, where Megan called Klay the “nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
He later reposted beach photos of the two looking like the cover of a rom-com DVD. And just like that, the internet had a new favorite couple, or at least a new one to argue about.
Place your bets on love’s shot clock
Shaq says six weeks. Tyson’s betting on forever. Klay and Megan? They haven’t said much, but they’ve certainly posted enough for the internet to speculate wildly.
Whether this duo goes the distance or flames out faster than a celebrity boxing match is anyone’s guess. But one thing’s for sure, Shaq’s already setting the odds.
