Urban Meyer Reveals His True Feelings on Scott Frost's 'Shot' at Nebraska

Urban Meyer was not a fan...

Urban Meyer Reveals His True Feelings on Scott Frost's 'Shot' at Nebraska originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

In a move that only seemed right, Scott Frost is back at the helm for the UCF Knights.

The opening occurred after former head coach Gus Malzahn decided to jump ship and take the offensive coordinator role at Florida State. A move that allowed Frost to take over the program, which led to a 13-0 record and national title (claimed) in 2017.

After that season, Frost ended up leaving UCF to coach at his alma mater, Nebraska. A tenure that didn't go nearly as well as he was fired after posting a 16-31 record. When discussing his time in Lincoln at Big 12 Media Days earlier this month, Frost admitted he didn't really want to be at Nebraska nor did he think it was a good fit.

A comment that former Ohio State and Florida head coach, Urban Meyer, didn't love when addressing it on a recent episode of "The Triple Option."

“We’ve all stood at the podium and you say something and you’re like, ‘Ouch, why did I say that?’ and you can’t take it back,” Meyer said. “I’m sure he’d want to take it back. If it’s not meant to be, it’s a direct shot at Nebraska. I know Scott Frost. Hell of a coach. I’ve known him for a long time. That didn’t go well."

Regardless, the past is the past, and clearly Frost doesn't love his time coaching at Nebraska as much as his playing days there.

The second rendition of the Frost era will begin on Aug. 28 against Jacksonville State.
