Texas Tech basketball's Christian Anderson added a new layer to his busy offseason by being named to Germany's FIBA EuroBasket roster.
Christian Anderson has already had a busy offseason before entering his sophomore year with the Texas Tech basketball team, and it's about to get even busier.
The German national team announced Monday that Anderson has been selected to the team's roster for the 2025 FIBA EuroBasket tournament, which begins in late August. Anderson will join several current NBA players on the 16-player German roster, including Franz Wagner of the Orlando Magic and Dennis Schroder of the Sacramento Kings.
Germany is scheduled to have six warm-up games from August 8 to August 23 before the EuroBasket tournament begins on August 27. Two of those warm-up games are against Slovenia, which is slated to have Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic on the court for the tourney.
EuroBasket is scheduled to conclude on Sept. 14.
Anderson is coming off a stellar showing during the 205 FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland. He led Germany to the championship game of the tournament, where he and the German national team fell to the United States national team, which featured Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland as an assistant on the roster.
The Atlanta native, who holds dual citizenship in the U.S. and Germany — his father's birth nation — averaged 17.3 points. 4.9 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game throughout the World Cup tournament.
Anderson averaged 10.6 points per game and shot 38% from 3-point range during his freshman campaign with Texas Tech. He scored a career-high 22 points in the Red Raiders' comeback win over Arkansas in the Sweet 16 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.
