Germany defender Sarai Linder will miss the women's Euro 2025 semi-finals against world champion Spain on Wednesday due to injury.

Linder had to be subbed off in the quarter-final match against France and the German Football Federation (DFB) said in a statement on Sunday evening that she suffered a capsule and ligament injury to her left ankle.

Her participation in a possible final is "currently still open," the DFB said.

Besides Linder, coach Christian Wück also won't have midfielder Sjoeke Nüsken and defender Kathrin Hendrich as both are suspended.

Nüsken received her second yellow card of the tournament against France, while Hendrich was shown a red card for pulling Griedge Mbock Bathy's hair in the first half.

With only 10 players on the pitch, Germany still managed to defeat the French side on penalties.

Defender Carlotta Wamser can return against Spain, while captain Giulia Gwinn is out of the tournament after suffering an injury in the opening match against Poland.
