(WJHL) – On Sunday, the VHSL released the full list of All-State performers from the 2025 outdoor track & field championships – and Southwest Virginia is well-represented.
In Class 3, a pair of boys and three girls at Abingdon High School earned top recognition. Eamon Alshie was honored for his third-place finish in the 800m run, while Tyler Stanley received marks for his runner-up finish in the long jump.
Jose Jackson was named All-State following her pair of state championship victories in the 800m (2:11.99) and 1600m (4:53.00) events. Annsley Trivette’s state championship discuss performance (131-9) and Avery Whitson’s podium finish in the 3200m run also earned them All-State honors.
In Class 2, boys from three area schools landed on the All-State list.
Marion’s Jacob Mooney dominated the discus final (151-9) to earn his honor, while teammate Domenico Bruzzo-Morello placed third in the 3200m run.
Virginia High’s Keshawn Smith earned recognition for his podium finishes in the 100m and 200m events.
Kam Bostic of Union found his name on the team twice, as he finished third in the 300m hurdle final, while also helping the 4x400m relay team to a second place finish, along with Baker, Potter and Potter.
Ridgeview’s Carlee Sykes earned All-State honors in the 100m, 200m and 400m events, finishing as state champion in the 200m race (25.53). her teammate Josie Hill was also tabbed for her podium finish in the triple jump.
Union’s Katelynn Witt was recognized for her state titles in both the 100m (15.92) and 300m hurdle (47.32) races. Teammate Harper Potter was also named All-State for her second-place shotput finish.
Lee High’s Baylee Butina also received an All-State nod for her runner-up finish in the 300m hurdles, while the Generals’ squad of Edens, Williams, Butina and Parsons took home the gold in the 4x100m relay (50.74).
Butina also finished runner-up in the long jump finals.
Savana Parsons also took home a pair of All-State honors for her long jump (17-5.25) and triple jump (37-0.75) victories.
Gate City’s Jaydyn Carrico rounded out the area’s All-State honorees with a podium performance in the high jump.
