LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – The West Michigan Whitecaps polished off a three-game sweep of the Lansing Lugnuts with a 6-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Whitecaps opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-run single off the bat off Peyton Graham.
They added three more runs in the third and cruised to a victory behind strong outings from pitchers Andrew Sears, Colin Fields, Blair Calvo and Marco Jimenez. The quartet combined to scatter just five Lugnuts hits.
The Lugnuts will look to get back on track when they hit the road this week for a six-game series against the Lake County Captains. The series begins Tuesday at 7 p.m.
