The imminent arrival of Marcus Rashford is set to have major ramifications as far as Barcelona’s squad-building is concerned.

One of the players who could be impacted by the move is Pau Victor, with Barcelona already accelerating the process of his departure.

Victor has been rendered surplus to the requirements following the arrival of Rashford, and a move away from Catalonia could soon be on the cards.

Valencia request loan move for Victor

According to Diario SPORT, Valencia have emerged as a potential suitor for Pau Victor as he looks to exit Barcelona in order to gain regular game-time.

The club have been monitoring the striker for some time and recently held direct talks with Deco, Barcelona’s sporting director, to explore a potential deal.

Valencia have proposed a loan move with a purchase option, and are even willing to include penalty clauses if Víctor doesn’t receive adequate minutes in the first team.

Head coach Carlos Corberan is personally invested in the transfer, having identified Victor as a good fit for his plans.

However, Barcelona are not convinced. Deco made it clear during talks that the club are looking to sell Victor permanently for around €10 million.

The club are open to including standard clauses like buy-back options or future sell-on percentages, a model Barça have used with several academy products in recent years.

For now, negotiations have stalled, as Valencia are unwilling to meet the asking price. That said, Victor is keen on staying in La Liga and would welcome the opportunity to play under Corberan.

It will be interesting to see if other La Liga clubs jump on the opportunity to sign Victor in the coming weeks, although it is unlikely any of them would want to meet Barcelona’s €10 million price tag.
