According to a report from Fabrice Hawkins, Marseille have reached a preliminary agreement with Juventus to sign Timothy Weah (25) on loan with a mandatory purchase option. The American international looks set to return to Ligue 1.
Weah looked set to join Nottingham Forest earlier in the summer transfer window. That was until a potential move collapsed. The 25-year-old has prioritised a return to France and is now set to join OM on a 5-year contract following the completion of his initial loan spell with Les Phocéens. He previously played in France with Lille.
Marseille have agreed a fee with the Turin outfit between €12m and €15m once he has completed a loan move. The former Lille man will now travel to the South of France to complete a medical ahead of being officially unveiled as a Les Olympiens player. Weah will add versatility to Roberto De Zerbi’s squad with a high ability to play in multiple roles on the right flank.
