Real Madrid are determined to strengthen their defence this summer, and one of their top targets is Ibrahima Konate.
In fact, according to a report from Fichajes, the Spanish giants are exploring ways to convince Liverpool to let the French defender leave ahead of schedule.
Konate, who is under contract with Liverpool until 2026, has been on Real Madrid’s radar for months.
It is said that the 26-year-old centre-back is admired by the club’s coaching staff for his physical presence, defensive anticipation, and big-game experience with both Liverpool and the French national team.
Initially, Madrid’s plan was to wait until his contract ran out and pick him up on a free transfer. However, concerns about injuries and player form in the current defensive line have forced the club to rethink its strategy.

In a bid to sweeten the offer, Real Madrid are now prepared to include Brahim Diaz in the negotiation.
The idea is to send Brahim to Liverpool along with an additional €10 million, hoping this package will persuade the English club to part ways with Konate this summer.
From Madrid’s point of view, the deal makes sense. Brahim Diaz has struggled to secure a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu, and his attacking versatility could appeal to Arne Slot, who is on the lookout for creative attacking options.
Whether Liverpool will accept this proposal remains to be seen, as Konate is still a key part of Liverpool’s defensive setup, but his contract situation could force the Reds to consider offers.
With no extension in sight, a summer departure might make sense if it prevents losing him for less down the line.
