The 29-year-old England International is now on the Manchester United shortlist along with Benjamin Sesko and Nicolas Jackson. According to a report from Fichajes, Manchester United are now carefully evaluating a potential move for all three players. It will be interesting to see who they end up with.
Man United need attacking depth
It is no secret that they need to bring in a reliable finisher this summer. They struggled to score goals last season, and someone like Watkins could prove to be an excellent addition. He is a reliable performer in the Premier League, and he has consistently proven himself at the highest level.

The 29-year-old is more than just a goal scorer, and he will help create opportunities for his teammates and add a new dimension to the Manchester United attack with his hold-up play and link-up. Watkins is very accomplished in the air as well. He could be the complete forward, Manchester United are crying out for.
It remains to be seen whether they can convince Aston Villa to sell the player. He is highly rated at the West Midlands club, and manager Unai Emery recently labelled him as a “fantastic” player.
The player is 29, and this could be his final opportunity to join a big club. He will be tempted if Manchester United come calling with an offer. It remains to be seen how the situation develops. Sesko and Jackson will be younger alternatives, but Watkins is probably better-placed to make an instant impact at Manchester United compared to the other two players.
