The report suggests that the English international has taken a 25% pay cut in order to join Barcelona, who are paying the player’s full salary.

This is a significant show of commitment for a player who are determined to join the club all summer, soon after his loan spell at Aston Villa came to an end.

The report adds that Barcelona have the option to make the deal permanent for a fee of just €30 million next summer.

This refutes earlier reports which suggested that the Catalans would have to pay €35 million in order to acquire Rashford’s services permanently.

In any case, Barcelona will hope that the Rashford deal will be a sign of good things to come, with the club now already fast-tracking the exit of Pau Victor.

The Man United striker brings a wealth of experience to the table, having featured in almost 300 Premier League matches during his career, scoring 89 goals while mustering 52 assists.

Rashford can also bring versatility to the table as he is capable of operating both in central and in wide attacking roles, making him an ideal fit for coach Hansi Flick.
