Here are three remaining free agents the Detroit Pistons could target this offseason.
3 Remaining Free Agents the Detroit Pistons Could Target This Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been an interesting offseason thus far for the Detroit Pistons as they have made multiple additions to their roster but have also lost some key players from last season.
Detroit signed Caris LeVert in free agency and they acquired Duncan Robinson via a sign-and-trade deal with the Miami Heat.
Despite these signings, the Pistons did lose Dennis Schroder to the Sacramento Kings while Tim Hardaway Jr. signed with the Denver Nuggets.
Now with free agency still taking place, the Pistons could elect to make more moves to upgrade their roster as they try to claim a top seed in the Eastern Conference next season.
Here are three remaining free agents the Pistons could target this summer.
Chris Boucher
Boucher would be a solid addition to Detroit’s bench as they lack frontcourt depth behind Jalen Duren outside of Isaiah Stewart and Paul Reed.
The veteran big man is a great scorer and defender who would help space the floor due to his three-point shooting, which is something the Pistons have lacked in their frontcourt.
Malik Beasley
For Beasley, he entered free agency as one of the top names but with him being investigated due to gambling allegations, no team has taken a chance on the three-point sharpshooter thus far.
That includes the Pistons, who have allowed Beasley to enter free agency but if they can sign him to a cheap contract this summer, it would be a massive boost to the offense of their second unit after he finished with the second-most made threes last season.
Russell Westbrook
With the departure of Schroder, the Pistons are in desperate need of a backup point guard and Westbrook would be a solid addition to their bench.
The former MVP winner revitalized his career last season with the Nuggets and proved that he could still play a key role for a contending team and there is no doubt he would be a great fit behind Cade Cunningham in Detroit.
While the Pistons could target all of these players, they could also look elsewhere to try and upgrade their lineup ahead of next season.
